It’s no secret that I am an avid fountain pen enthusiast and collector. I only use fountain pens and pencils, and I don’t use anything else unless I have to. However, when I saw this shop in the depths of the internet, I couldn’t resist. This was something I wanted to witness and see with my own eyes.
Imagine a store that only sells pencils and accessories. Yes, it’s not even mechanical. It’s a store that sells sharpenable wooden pencils.
Caroline Weaver turned her passion for pencils into a business, opening and maintaining this shop in 2014. Furthermore, things are going pretty well. This cute shop has developed special projects with reputable institutions, such as Herman Miller, Warby Parker, Whitney Museum of American Art, and several world-famous brands, such as Caran d’Ache.
I think I need a bit more sadness after discussing with my friends about Geography is Destiny. Even though they didn’t need it, I bought something to support them, knowing I would never use it. I met lovely people in that store and left with that strange feeling I often get in New York.
Stop by if you’re in New York. These subtleties and those who appreciate them make this world bearable.
